Block 2 is the first project developed at Douglas Park, a reclaimed brownfield on the site of a former Hughes Aircraft manufacturing plant adjacent to the Long Beach, CA, airport. As required, it meets the Zinner Consultants-developed Douglas Park Sustainable Development Strategy LEED Certified mandate. The collection of low rise office buildings, encompassing an entire block, utilizes recycled water for all landscaping as well as cool roofs and cool, concrete-paved parking. The offices incorporate daylight, views, and low emitting adhesives and sealants, paints, flooring and composite wood. Over 75% of the construction waste was recycled, and construction materials contained over 10% recycled and over 20% regional materials.
