High Performance Schools (CHPS) Program

ZC developed LAUSD’s Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) program to improve the quality of the District’s new facilities and school modernization projects, and continues to play a key role in its implementation. LAUSD is the nation’s first school district to adopt and implement CHPS, a sustainable schools rating system. The program has been institutionalized through measures such as high performance Design Guidelines, Guide Specifications and a standardized design and construction review process. Over 40 new high performance schools are in development.
